Hitachi unveils first UK built trains
Our client, Hitachi, has unveiled the first in the next generation of trains to be built entirely at its plant in the North East of England. Previously trains were partly assembled in Japan.
Work on the trains began at the start of last year at the factory in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, and will finish at the end of 2018.
Hitachi are contracted to deliver 70 trains as part of an agreement with ScotRail worth £400 million pounds.
Partner Stephen Gill and his patent team work with Hitachi on their IP portfolio.
