Christopher (Chris) is in our life sciences patent team and has particular experience in the biotechnology, nanotech and pharmaceutical sectors.

His expertise includes:

  • enzyme technology
  • diagnostics and prognostic biomarkers
  • regenerative medicine including differentiation of hES cells into neural cells for use in brain and spinal cord repair
  • nanomedicine including nanoparticles as drug delivery agent
  • Alzheimer’s disease biochemistry

Chris has previously provided in-house IP assistance to clients and regularly lectures to clients at seminars.

The Legal 500 (2016) recognises Chris as ‘highly active on the life sciences side‘.

Chris has a degree in Natural Sciences (pharmacology) from Cambridge University and a PhD in Biochemistry from University College London. His PhD project focussed on neurochemistry underlying Alzheimer’s disease. He carried out post-doctoral research on inflammation associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Chris joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2004, qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2007 and a European Patent Attorney in 2008. He joined the partnership in 2011.
