Kathryn is a member of our chemistry & materials patent team with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, agricultural and biotechnology sectors. She has particular expertise in procuring and advising on Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs) for pharmaceuticals (including biologics) and plant protection products.

Her clients include large and small Japanese and US pharmaceutical companies.

Kathryn has a degree and PhD in natural sciences specialising in chemistry from the University of Cambridge. Her PhD project was in N.M.R. study of formaldehyde metabolism in E.coli.

Kathryn joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 1984, qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 1988 and a European Patent Attorney in 1989.
