Satoe prosecutes patent applications at the EPO for international (mainly Japanese) clients, principally in the chemistry field. She’s involved in both offensive and defensive oppositions. Satoe also has skills in patents under the Japanese Patent Law, in trade marks under the Japanese Trade Mark Law and Madrid Protocol systems, and in designs under the Japanese Design Law. She is a key member of the Japanese business development team.

Background
Satoe has a BSc in Botany from the University of Reading and an MSc in Drug Discovery and Protein Biotechnology from the University of Edinburgh. She worked in another private practice before joining Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2016, registering as a Japanese Patent Attorney in 2015 and then qualifying as a European Patent Attorney in 2022.
