Sean is a member of our life sciences patent team working in the biotechnology sector.
His technical expertise encompasses:
Sean has experience in prosecuting patent applications for local and international clients. He also works on offensive and defensive oppositions, and appeals before the EPO.
Sean has been seconded to a biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, UK, spending two days a week there for around 12 months. During this time, he assisted the company with their patent portfolio and due diligence.
He has a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a Year in Industry from Imperial College London. He went on to study for a PhD at University College London in Neuroscience. His doctoral research focused on investigating the role of various transcription factors underlying nervous system development and involved the use of gene editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9.
Sean joined Mewburn Ellis in 2014, qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney in 2018.
