In-house IP assistance

Clients who have made one of our IP experts part of their in-house team have seen real business benefits.

In-house IP assistance

Whether there is a need to focus on a specific project, a need for maternity cover for an in-house IP professional, or simply too much work for an in-house team to manage, we can help with our in-house assistance service.

In-house assistance when needed

We are well versed in working at all levels of organisations, from established corporate clients to recent start-ups. Our experience across all areas of IP in numerous industry sectors means we are never out of ideas and can always offer a service tailored to individual business needs.

For example, when one of our technology start-up clients found they needed focused and in-house day-to-day legal counsel they came to us. It was a period of significant development for them, as they were going through an initial public offering (IPO) process and listing on AIM. At Mewburn Ellis we were able to meet their needs by seconding a solicitor from our legal services team to work exclusively for the company out of their main office 2-3 days per week. Our client was delighted as we were able to provide them with essential commercial and IP legal services on an in-house basis.

Essential IP services on an in-house basis

Another one of our clients, a spin-out company from Cambridge University, needed cover while someone on their in-house IP team took a sabbatical. We stepped in – one of our patent attorneys worked for them in-house, part time, for around 4 months.

So whether there is a need for assistance from a patent or trade mark attorney, or a need to have an IP lawyer on hand, Mewburn Ellis is able to deliver the in-house assistance required.
