Callum is a member of our chemistry & materials patent team. He has particular experience in the industrial chemistry and pharmaceuticals sectors, with expertise in the following areas:
His work encompasses drafting, worldwide patent prosecution, oppositions and appeals before the EPO and providing advice to clients regarding their freedom to operate.
Callum has also gained first-hand experience of in-house IP work during a secondment to a multi-national chemical company, in which he focussed on drafting patent applications and providing opinions on freedom to launch new products.
Callum is recognised in the Managing Intellectual Property: IP Stars 2018 as a rising star.
He has a Masters degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford. This included a year of research within Physical Chemistry focussing on spectroscopic and computational studies of small gas-phase Transition Metal Clusters.
Callum joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2012, qualifying as both a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 2016.
