Associate, European Patent Attorney
Daniel is a member of our electronics, computing & physics, and engineering patent teams, having experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the UK and at the EPO. His work covers a wide range of technical fields, including medical devices, telecommunications, computer hardware, electronic engineering, and software. He works with clients ranging from SMEs and universities to large multinationals.
He has particular expertise in the following areas:
Daniel has a BSc and PhD in physics from the University of St Andrews. He undertook part of his PhD research at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden, Germany. His PhD project focused on the study of correlated electron materials at cryogenic temperatures, high pressures and strong magnetic fields. His research led several high-impact publications, including in Science and Science Advances.
Daniel joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2015, qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2018 and a European Patent Attorney in 2019.
