Read our law and practice guidesRob is a member of our engineering patent team. Rob works across a wide range of technical fields in the engineering, materials and process engineering sectors, and carries out patent drafting, prosecution and Freedom to Operate analysis.

Rob works with a wide range of clients, including direct clients and foreign associates, including SMEs, start-ups, and foreign attorneys across the UK, Europe, Japan, USA and China.
Rob also has experience working in-house for a UK textile manufacturer.
Background
Rob has an MEng degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His master’s research project focussed on three-dimensional analysis of particle-size segregation within granular avalanches using magnetic resonance imaging. During his undergraduate studies, Rob spent time working for Proctor & Gamble within their Baby-Care R&D Group.
Rob joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2020, qualifying as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2023 and as a European Patent Attorney in 2024.
Recognition
Rob was awarded the CIPA Michael Jones Prize for passing the 2023 UK patent prosecution paper with the highest mark.
