Read our law and practice guidesSamuel is a patent attorney in our life sciences team, specialising in biotechnology and therapeutics. He is involved in all stages of the patent application process, and has experience drafting and prosecuting applications. He also has experience of opposition and opinion work.

Background
Samuel completed his Ph.D. studies at King's College London. His research focused on mechanisms of sterile inflammation, specifically investigating how leukocytes may act as key drivers of this process in the context of myocardial infarction (MI) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
Samuel graduated with a B.Sc. in Pharmacology from King's College London, winning the Robin Hoult Prize for ‘Best Overall B.Sc. Student' and the British Pharmacological Society Undergraduate Pharmacology Prize. As part of his 4-year undergraduate programme, he also completed an industrial placement year at MedPharm in Guildford, a contract research organisation specialising in topical and transdermal drug delivery.
Samuel joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2020 and qualified as European Patent Attorney in 2024.
