Mewburn Ellis Donate £7,500 to Forgotten Women

This year the WoMen network here at Mewburn are supporting ‘Forgotten Women’ a charity run by women for women with a donation of £7,500. Nominated by Hamera Tahir, she states ‘We should remember the outstanding women who put themselves first on the front line to deliver assistance, often in remote and dangerous areas. These women champions are often overlooked themselves, so let’s not forget their efforts to continue empowering women to live a life free from humiliation, poverty and abuse.”

Forgotten Women are a UK based organisation who for the past 7 years have dedicated time and resource to helping women in crisis and emergencies, lifting them out of poverty and championing equality and rights for marginalised girls and women.

Aimee Hardman, Paralegal at Mewburn states, “Forgotten Women are a clear choice for support from the team, not only do they advocate for safe aid but they build opportunities for women and eliminate dependency on handouts to give women a voice to be heard. We are excited to learn more about the work they are carrying out and the difference it is having on so many lives.”

Our donation will help the Forgotten Women team aid women to leave the poverty trap, and continue to deliver safe toilets, wells of dignity, and thousands of much needed food supplies to women in remote areas.

Sunny Bahia, CEO at Forgotten Women, says, "We are honoured to have the WoMen Network at Mewburn supporting our mission in protecting the dignity of women in crisis. Special thanks to Hamera Tahir for her faith in us and to Aimee Hardman for aligning with our vision. Women are the backbone of society; when they rise, whole communities rise, and great things happen. Therefore, we must provide them with the opportunities they deserve. Our commitment continues until every woman can live a free and happy life."
