WIPR Diversity 2023

We are delighted to have three of our wonderful women recognised in WIPR Diversity 2023. WIPR Diversity seeks to detail the progress of D&I in the IP profession and profiles outstanding individuals who made a significant mark on the sector.

Congratulations to:

  • Fran Salisbury on being recognised as a WIPR Diversity 2023 ‘Influential Woman in IP’ – women who have built some of the most successful careers in IP, including some who are already making waves in the industry. Fran is Mewburn Ellis’ Women’s Champion and drives our Women in IP campaign.

  • Lucy Coe on being recognised as a WIPR Diversity 2023 ‘Trailblazer’ – women with a decade or less experience in the IP industry who stood out due to their impressive practice in IP and their determination to promote inclusion and diversity within the sector. Lucy sits on Mewburn Ellis’ Inclusion and Diversity committee and the Women’s Group committee.

  • Maria Hall on being recognised as a WIPR Diversity 2023 ‘Change Driver’ – a new category which recognises and celebrates the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work undertaken—and often sparked—by members of the business services teams in IP firms and companies. Maria is the Community Champion at Mewburn Ellis and has been instrumental in implementing our Menopause Policy and Women in IP Campaign.

We are very proud to see Fran, Lucy and Maria receive these recognitions.

It is also great to have Rachel Oxley and Andrew Mears feature in the article Femtech: from taboo to multibillion-dollar industry. Drawing on insights from our Special Report, Femtech — a growth industry, the article explores how technology is continuing to transform women’s healthcare, female inventors driving change and why more needs to be done to ensure they secure IP rights.
