Background
Amelia has an undergraduate BSc degree in Biochemistry from Cardiff University with an Industrial placement at GlaxoSmithKline and a PhD Cancer Sciences from University of Manchester. Her PhD research project investigated how protein phosphorylation impacts the activity of cell cycle phosphatases, using genetic manipulation of S. pombe and biochemical assays. Amelia's industrial placement project aimed to optimise large scale protein production and purification protocols, specifically for monoclonal antibodies. Her undergraduate dissertation project aimed to develop a diagnostic tool for mitochondrial storage diseases using enzyme activity signatures. She joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2022.
