David is an experienced solicitor and member of our legal services team. David has extensive experience advising on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters. He has particular expertise in relation to disputes concerning patents, trade marks, and designs. He also advises on issues concerning copyright, domain names, confidential information, and Intellectual Property aspects of corporate and commercial transactions. David has advised on proceedings before the High Court, Court of Appeal, Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, and UK and EU Intellectual Property Offices.

David’s clients include start-ups, SME’s and large international corporate groups. He has worked with clients in a variety of sectors including healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, retail and leisure, sports, fashion, and financial services. Many of the disputes David has advised on have included multi-jurisdictional issues and involved working with clients and legal counsel in countries such as Sweden, Germany, the US and China.
Background
David has a degree in history from the University of Oxford. He obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law from Oxford Brookes University and LPC from the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice. He has a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Bristol. He trained at a global law firm, where he qualified into their Intellectual Property team. David subsequently joined the Intellectual Property Litigation team at a leading UK law firm in 2010.
David joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2021.
