GRAEME MOORE

Graeme is the Engineering and Information Communication Technology (Eng & ICT) practice group leader, and is a member of the firm’s Management Board.  He has over 20 years’ experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the mobile telecoms, distributed computer systems and consumer goods spaces. He is also experienced in providing freedom to operate opinions, helping to inform pragmatic commercial decision making.

Graeme and his team work closely with our clients to generate IP portfolios that provide robust defence against competitors, and that establish attractive offerings for investors.  He also has experience in crafting patents for admission into patent pools, including standard essential patents.

Graeme works with a variety of large and small clients across a diverse range of technical fields. He has particular experience in advising some of the largest Japanese multinational corporations on optimising their filing and prosecution strategies across Europe, to deliver robust patent portfolios in a cost effective manner. He also has enviable experience in helping to bring domestic UK SMEs through to realising their full value.  He is a regular visitor to Asia, in particular Japan; he also regularly attends the APAA conference.

Background

Graeme is a European and UK patent attorney.  He has a Master’s degree and PhD in applied physics from the University of Bath, with a focus on semiconductor devices, in particular terahertz technology.  He also conducted postdoctoral research at l’Université de Paris-Sud XI, France and at the University of Bath.  His postdoctoral research focussed on magnetic semiconductors, optoelectronic devices and display technologies.
