Katherine is a member of our life sciences patent team specialising in antibody therapeutics and cell and gene therapy. She is involved in a wide range of patent work, from pre-drafting advice to drafting and prosecution of worldwide patent portfolios. Katherine also has experience in European oppositions, due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Background
Katherine has a first class BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol and a PhD in Structural and Molecular Biology from University College London. Both her doctoral, and subsequent post-doctoral research at King’s College London, focused on the structural characterisation of protein-RNA and protein-protein interactions involved in gene regulation.
She joined Mewburn Ellis in 2018, qualifying as a European Patent Attorney and Chartered Patent Attorney in 2023.
