Rebecca has experience in prosecution and drafting, primarily for technologies such as antibodies and other pharmaceutical compositions, in particular for the treatment of cancer, autoimmune disease and neurodegenerative disease.

Background
Rebecca has an undergraduate BSc in Biochemistry with an Industrial Placement Year, and a PhD, from the University of Bristol. During her undergraduate degree, Rebecca spent 12 months at a pharmaceutical company where her research project focused on the use of quantitative PCR and animal models to assess disease progression. Her doctoral research investigated cell migration during wound healing and cancer. Following her PhD, Rebecca worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of North Carolina in the USA, where her research focused on haptotaxis, a form of cell migration, in wound healing. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney and joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2021. She also qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2022.
