Juliana is a UK and European patent attorney in our engineering team. She is experienced in patent drafting, prosecution, freedom-to-operate, and in steering international patent portfolios to maximise commercial value for her clients.

  • Medical technology (such as electrosurgical instruments, analyte sensors, intravascular stents, retinal implants, and spinal cord stimulators)
  • Consumer electronic devices and associated consumable products
  • Automotive technology (such as air bags and crash sensors)

Juliana works with a broad range of clients including start-ups, multinationals, and foreign attorneys.

Background

Juliana holds a first-class MPhys degree in Physics from the University of Manchester. For her Master’s project, Juliana developed a dual wavelength capillaroscope, which is a new medical imaging device. This research led to a pilot medical trial to assist with the study of diseases such as systemic sclerosis.

Juliana joined the patent profession in 2017 at another large private practice firm, before joining Mewburn Ellis in 2019. She qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 2021.
