Sarah is an associate patent attorney working as part of our life sciences team.  She has experience in patent drafting, prosecution and opposition at the European Patent Office. She also has experience working with large Freedom to Operate projects.

Sarah is part of Mewburn’s microbiome and women’s health teams. Her scientific background in plant-microbe interactions has developed into a keen interest in how human health is shaped by interactions with microbes.  She is also passionate about women’s health and technologies which aim to reduce the gender health gap.

Background

Sarah has a degree in Biological Sciences from Oxford University and completed a PhD in plant-microbe interactions at the University of Warwick. Before joining Mewburn in 2020 she worked as a post-doc in the Centre for Novel Agricultural Products at York University where her research focused on plant responses to biotic stress. She qualified as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2023 and a European Patent Attorney in 2024.
