Michael is a member of our trade mark team with a particular focus on overseas trade marks and the Madrid Protocol system. He is also experienced in trade mark oppositions, cancellations and other contentious issues. He is experienced in drafting and negotiating settlement agreements.
His clients span a range of industries including consumer products, industrial chemistry, mechanical & structural engineering, Medtech and pharmaceuticals
Michael has been recognised in the 2017 edition of The Legal 500. He is described as ‘concise in the expert guidance he provides‘.
Michael has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and is also a member of that Institute’s WIPO Liaison Working Group.
Michael joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 1977. He qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 1982 and a Registered Trade Mark Agent in 1994. Michael is a Representative authorised to act before EUIPO.
