We are recruiting for an experienced Patent Administrator to join our IP Support Services function which sits at the heart of our firm, providing vital support to clients and attorneys throughout the end-to-end process of patent administration.
We are involved from the beginning of the application process, continuing through to grant and post-grant activities including renewals and oppositions. It’s our responsibility to free our Attorneys of all administrative work, so they can focus their expertise where clients need it most.
We are recruiting for our London office and if successful you will join our dedicated training programme to bring you up to speed with the requirements of the role. This is a great opportunity to join one of Europe’s top specialist Intellectual Property firms.
The role
On joining the IP Support Services team, you will work closely with paralegals, attorneys and other members of the IP Support function undertaking a range of activities, relating to all aspects of patent and design cases including;
- Review incoming emails, noting instructions and relevant deadlines and saving to electronic files.
- Review official correspondence from patent offices and prepare reports to clients.
- Prepare and file patent and design applications.
- Prepare documents and correspondence for filing at the relevant Intellectual Property Office in accordance with our firm’s standards.
- To prepare client correspondence and invoices in accordance with our firm’s standards.
The role is varied and can be busy at times. You will be working as part of a wider team but will have individual responsibility for your own tasks and deadlines.

About you
You will have significant experience of working in a Patent Administration or equivalent patent role and ideally have your CIPA qualification.
You will be a highly motivated individual who takes pride in organisation, attention to detail and accuracy as well as excellent communication skills.
In addition to the above you will also be able to demonstrate the following.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with good organisational skills.
- Able to handle and prioritise large volumes of data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate in a clear, concise, and friendly manner is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office level including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
