Mewburn Ellis is delighted to once again be ranked in World Trademark Review 1000, the research directory which focuses exclusively on trade mark practices and practitioners. Now in its eleventh year, the WTR 1000 shines a spotlight on the firms and individuals that are deemed outstanding from over 80 key jurisdictions globally.
This year we have received positive comments regarding our ongoing growth strategy, with WTR researchers saying “Mewburn Ellis has increased its bandwidth in dispute resolution; promoted up-and-comers such as Rebecca Anderson-Smith ... invested in its Munich office; and launched a new case management system, allowing for greater flexibility”.
Kate O'Rourke, former Head of Trade Marks, garnered high praise, "Kate is simply the best that money can buy. Her extensive global trademark knowledge is second to none; as are her pragmatic and commercial solutions. Thorough, strategic and smart, she always comes through with results and reliable advice that you cannot ignore".
Meanwhile, Andy King was described as "excellent at communicating updates along with explanations clearly setting out the pros and cons of different actions" alongside Jacqueline Pang, who was highlighted as having a "unique insight into how US firms and companies operate, and a keen appreciation of what they are looking for in a UK and EU firm" and "a level of confidence and experience beyond her years, which shows in her fantastic client service skills and solid business understanding".
Sofia Arenal, who became a Trade Mark Director in 2019, also received recognition as a 'cultured all-rounder' and for her 'blended portfolio development, administrative litigation expertise and transactional nous'.
Individuals are judged on their depth of expertise, the level of work on which they are typically instructed, along with peer and client feedback so we’re particularly pleased to see Kate O’Rourke, Sofia Arenal, Andy King and Dydra Donath are all recommended attorneys.
